Dr. (Lt Col) Bhanu Sharma is an Ex-Army Consultant Orthopedic Surgeon, received his medical degree from the University of Rajasthan, JLN Medical college Ajmer, in 2000. His residency training program in Orthopedics began at Army Base hospital, New Delhi. During his studies, he had the privilege of working with the most expert Trauma and arthroscopic surgeons. Dr Sharma research interests are varied, and reflect his training in sports trauma, musculoskeletal medicine, knee injuries and Gunshot wound surgery. The recent research thrust has been in the genetics of orthopaedic conditions, in tissue engineering of tendons or meniscus, and various therapies for tendinopathy. Dr Sharma’s surgical interests lie mainly on the management of Trauma, mass causality, limb realignment, complex reconstruction (Ilizarov techniques), sports injuries, tendon disorders and soft tissue injuries of the limb. He has developed several minimally invasive techniques in orthopaedics and in Sports Medicine. He has a principle and co-authored several peer-reviewed publications and editorial board member/reviewer for many scientific journals. His main area of research is on sports injuries and Traumatology. He is a life member of many orthopaedic associations. A quick search in google will give a picture of his research output.
